Art // Lamp // Chest // Chair // Pillow // Tray

Welcome to October!

I’ve found that I get antsy when I haven’t created an “Art & Interiors” post in a while….for some reason the creative process of finding a piece of art that I love and sourcing beautiful furniture pieces and accessories to go with it, …fuels my creative juices!

In the past few years, I’ve been collecting abstract nude paintings as well as nude sculptures. My kids are like… “why do we have all these naked people in our house?” :) I don’t know! I just like them! The human body is a work of art, so why not?

  1. Art

The piece that inspired this month’s Art & Interiors post is a colorful nude by Lanie Mann and is available on Serena & Lily. I love the colors (if you follow me on Instagram…then you KNOW these are my colors!). Her artist bio says that she is an optimist by nature and she likes to create uplifting pieces. I love that!

2. Lighting

I’ve been obsessed with all the lighting from Visual Comfort lately. They have a fabulous selection on One Kings Lane. I ordered this sweet lamp for my bedroom in a cream color, but I just love it in this pretty teal!

3. Bedside Chest

One of my new favorites is the Collins Chest from Lexington — available in two pretty blue hues, and a whitewash finish as well. I love the mid century vibe of the wood option! You can find it on One Kings Lane.

4. Swivel Chair

I love this chair! I used it in a project earlier this year, and it is so comfortable! If you missed the post, you can see the living room reveal here.

This chair is one of the many fabulous frames from Robin Bruce Furniture - I carry this furniture line in my interior design studio and it’s awesome!

5. Pillow

Once again, I’m going to emphasize my belief that pillows (in addition to art!) can totally make a space! This pretty pillow is from Spark Modern!

6. Tray

Trays are awesome little catch-alls that make your interior space look cohesive. Layer trays with decorative objects, books, and plants. This pretty tray would be great on a coffee table or a master bathroom vanity!

Interior Design: Before & After Bathroom Remodel

My clients have two young daughters and needed this bathroom to more efficient with storage and space. They wanted a timeless design in their 100 year old home that would transition with the girls as they grow from playing in the bathtub as toddlers, to maximizing space needed for makeup, hairdryers, etc as they become teenagers.

Interior Design: A Pretty Place for Reading

In this project, in Orinda, Ca., I was tasked with coming up with a design solution for a landing space at the top of a stairwell. It was a space that was too small for a loveseat and chairs, and too big and open to use as a home office.
