I'm so excited to share a recent interior design project with you!  This was a dream client who I worked with late last summer.  The goal was to take their newly remodeled living room and create a colorful and comfortable space for the family of 5 to entertain in or simply hang out.

It's a mid-century-esque house with a great view of a gorgeous hillside, nestled in a suburban enclave in Northern California.

Here are a couple of pics of the room while the remodel was going on....

The ottoman was custom made and provides extra seating without getting in the way of the gorgeous view.  The coffee table is so incredibly awesome, it's iron with a wood surround and decorative butterfly joinery.

We added retro looking swivel chairs (super comfortable) and placed them right in front of the large raised hearth.  They are positioned for conversation, but can be swiveled to enjoy the fire.

We added a simple round faux shagreen side table between the chairs.  The perfect place to rest a book and a beverage.  The glass beads on the coffee table were found at the flea market, but you can find similar here.

The art was sourced from a local gallery.  I love how the pops of orange complement the soft blue design palette.  The leather chair added visual interest while being one of the most comfortable chairs ever!!

And that's it!  I'll be posting some more details about the space in the coming weeks focusing on coffee table and bookshelf styling and more!

Interior Design: Before & After Bathroom Remodel

My clients have two young daughters and needed this bathroom to more efficient with storage and space. They wanted a timeless design in their 100 year old home that would transition with the girls as they grow from playing in the bathtub as toddlers, to maximizing space needed for makeup, hairdryers, etc as they become teenagers.

Interior Design: A Pretty Place for Reading

In this project, in Orinda, Ca., I was tasked with coming up with a design solution for a landing space at the top of a stairwell. It was a space that was too small for a loveseat and chairs, and too big and open to use as a home office.
