Yes! Benjamin Moore has just announced its’ “Color of the Year” and it’s one my faves! As a certified color consultant, selecting paint is a key factor when I prepare the interior design concept of a room!

The 2019 Color of the Year is a cool gray…Metropolitan AF-690. It’s part of the ‘Affinity Collection’ by Benjamin Moore.

It’s a neutral color that is understated yet glamorous.

What are ‘cool colors’ versus ‘warm colors’? Cool colors have undertones of blue, green and light purple. Warm colors have undertones of red, yellow and orange.

One of the things that I love about the Affinity Collection from Benjamin Moore is that all of the 144 colors in the collection work flawlessly together. They are all earth tones, subtle and sophisticated. The collection provides an easy way to select colors that will complement your space! If you are of a certain age, then you will understand when I say that the Affinity Collection for your walls is like “Garanimals” was for children’s clothing! :)

These are a few home decor items that I love, that would look great with Metropolitan AF-690:

1. A pretty, light blue sofa

Interior Design: Before & After Bathroom Remodel

My clients have two young daughters and needed this bathroom to more efficient with storage and space. They wanted a timeless design in their 100 year old home that would transition with the girls as they grow from playing in the bathtub as toddlers, to maximizing space needed for makeup, hairdryers, etc as they become teenagers.

Interior Design: Before and After Dining Room

There is nothing like spending time in a happy and bright space that brings joy. This family loves to use their dining room for weekly ‘family game nights’ and theme parties as well as hosting their friends for dinner. I’m excited to share the details of the transformation!

Interior Design: A Pretty Place for Reading

In this project, in Orinda, Ca., I was tasked with coming up with a design solution for a landing space at the top of a stairwell. It was a space that was too small for a loveseat and chairs, and too big and open to use as a home office.
