Are you looking to remodel your kitchen or do a quick update by painting your existing kitchen cabinets? While white cabinets are still very much on trend, there are so many gorgeous and unique colors that look great on kitchen cabinetry!

I’ve rounded up a few inspirational photos for you along with three tips for painted cabinets!

  1. Paint Lower Cabinets a Dramatic Color

Create an open and airy look by eliminating your upper cabinetry, and replacing with open shelving. Choose an unexpected color for the island and lower cabinets. The blue on the island pictured above melds perfectly with the blue/green on the lower cabinets.

2. Make the Kitchen Cabinets and Backsplash Monochromatic

While a monochromatic look can easily be done with white cabinetry and a backsplash of white subway tile — I love the unexpected pale turquoise that designer, Tobi Fairley used above, tied in with the tone on tone backsplash. A brilliant use of a color!

3. Use Two Colors in Upper Kitchen Cabinetry

By painting a section of the cabinets a lighter color, this designer created visual interest and a pretty zone for plates and bowls.

Interior Design: Before & After Bathroom Remodel

My clients have two young daughters and needed this bathroom to more efficient with storage and space. They wanted a timeless design in their 100 year old home that would transition with the girls as they grow from playing in the bathtub as toddlers, to maximizing space needed for makeup, hairdryers, etc as they become teenagers.

Interior Design: A Pretty Place for Reading

In this project, in Orinda, Ca., I was tasked with coming up with a design solution for a landing space at the top of a stairwell. It was a space that was too small for a loveseat and chairs, and too big and open to use as a home office.
