Great interior design (in my opinion) includes a blend of items that are old and new, sentimental and artful.  And, while I wholeheartedly believe in purchasing the highest quality of furniture that you can within your budget ---- a well curated space is one that has a 'story' to tell.

I thought I'd share my top three places to shop in San Francisco to create artful spaces -- I think that you will love them!

1. Lost Art Salon

Lost Art Salon.  245 S Van Ness Ave #303, San Francisco, CA

Located South of Market in a light and bright studio space, Lost Art Salon is filled to the brim with gorgeous (mostly affordable) works of art predominantly from the Modern Era.  The owners specialize in the rediscovery of historically significant artists.  Owners, Rob Delamater and Gaeton Caron, also showcase their own work in the studio (which is stunning!).  Rob and Gaeton are approachable, helpful, sentimental and guiding in their assistance to help in the selection of the perfect piece of art for your home.  Even if you are not ready to make a purchase -- stop in and chat with them about the artists that they've vetted.  The personal histories of each artist they include never cease to mesmerize me -- from fascinating tales about the artist's life, anecdotes about their personalities and inspirations --- all create compelling narratives surrounding each piece.

2.  Stuff

Filled with antiques and vintage items from over 60 dealers --  I could stay here for days!  Stuff has everything from fabulous and funky furniture, eclectic decorative objects, vintage clothing, original art, sculptures, jewelry, lighting and more.  Some of my favorite finds have been vintage mudcloth fabric (which I used to make pillows) and ceramic sculptures. Make sure to 'like' their facebook page, because they upload photos of new items several times a day.

3.  Leftovers SF

With ever changing inventory (literally minute by minute), Leftovers Consignment, is the premier (in my opinion) consignment shop in the Bay Area. Housing unbelievable deals on high end used furniture and accessories -- everything here is in 'good condition' and I never leave empty handed.  For clients I've purchased gorgeous garden stools originally from Gumps, antique rugs that were hand selected by Frank Lloyd Wright for local residences, original art, stunning antique lamps and one-of-a-kind mirrors.  They update their website daily, so be sure to check back often!

These three fun shopping spots are within minutes of each other and you could hit them all in one day.  Have fun!

Thanks for stopping by!  If you need help curating your home, I offer "quick style" services -- which is essentially...."styling what you have and adding what you need".  It's a fun way to update your space without breaking the bank!  Contact me for more information!

Interior Design: Before & After Bathroom Remodel

My clients have two young daughters and needed this bathroom to more efficient with storage and space. They wanted a timeless design in their 100 year old home that would transition with the girls as they grow from playing in the bathtub as toddlers, to maximizing space needed for makeup, hairdryers, etc as they become teenagers.

Interior Design: A Pretty Place for Reading

In this project, in Orinda, Ca., I was tasked with coming up with a design solution for a landing space at the top of a stairwell. It was a space that was too small for a loveseat and chairs, and too big and open to use as a home office.
