My Recent Bath Remodel Sources

If you are thinking about renovating a bathroom in your home and need some ideas on where to start -- I'm sharing my interior design resources from my recent bath remodel!

The design portion started with the art (and the fact that we had a water leak -- see previous post here).  Art continues to be my inspiration, and earlier this year, I attended an art gallery opening featuring artist Julia Rymer.  I fell in love with these two pieces and decided that I would create a minimalist and neutral design scheme that would showcase her colorful art.  (FYI, Her work can also be found on Serena & Lily.)

In addition to the Rymer pieces,  --  I relocated a piece from my family room by another artist that I love, Julie Schumer and anchored it with white towels from West Elm layered with a colorful Turkish towel (similar towels can be found here).

All of the fixtures were sourced online -- an incredible option for all of you busy people who don't have time to shop! The items from Amazon shipped for free -- even the bath tub, which was crated and delivered to my front porch!

Additional Sources:

Field tile in the shower: Equipe Ceramicas

Flooring:  Crossville Inc

Countertop:  Caesarstone in Raw Concrete.

Design Tip:  When remodeling, use neutral surfaces as a backdrop. Using trendy colors and extremely stylized surfaces will date a project and be harder for resale.  Instead, make art and accessories your personalized design statement!

Interior Design: Before & After Bathroom Remodel

My clients have two young daughters and needed this bathroom to more efficient with storage and space. They wanted a timeless design in their 100 year old home that would transition with the girls as they grow from playing in the bathtub as toddlers, to maximizing space needed for makeup, hairdryers, etc as they become teenagers.

Interior Design: A Pretty Place for Reading

In this project, in Orinda, Ca., I was tasked with coming up with a design solution for a landing space at the top of a stairwell. It was a space that was too small for a loveseat and chairs, and too big and open to use as a home office.
