The Best Family and Pet Friendly Furniture for your Home

Hi there!  That cute dog in the photo is my dog, Myrtle.  She's 3 years old and loves my furniture.

Before I had kids (and pets), I used to be super uptight about keeping things 'just so' in my house.  Then, I had two boys....and as a family, we entertained a lot; invited friends (and their dogs) over to play -- and little by little, I realized that the memories we were making were going to be more important than keeping the furniture perfectly 'tidy' in our home.

My boys are now grown....(but Myrtle is here to stay)...and nowadays there is a new 'performance upholstery fabric' that will change the way you live (aka relax) in your home.  It's called Crypton fabric and it literally, is stain resistant.

In my new design studio, I'm representing a fabulous, well priced, comfortable and stylish furniture line, called Robin Bruce Furniture. The line has a fantastic selection of water and solvent cleanable fabrics, but also a gorgeous selection of Crypton fabrics.

This is a sampling of some of the furniture profiles that Robin Bruce offers -- each available in a multitude of fabric options (more furniture shapes and fabric selections can be found on the Robin Bruce website).  But I also have the fabrics here in my studio if you are near Lafayette, CA and want to stop in!

My interior design philosophy is this:  Make your home a place that you love -- a place that is livable, comfortable and represents you.

When Myrtle climbs on the furniture, I don't freak out (although she's not allowed on everything -- I do have some rules!)  Instead, I embrace the chance to cuddle with her knowing that I can clean off any paw prints.  :)

Does your home need a refresh?  Contact me with your questions.  I'd love to work with you!

Thanks for stopping by!

Interior Design: Before & After Bathroom Remodel

My clients have two young daughters and needed this bathroom to more efficient with storage and space. They wanted a timeless design in their 100 year old home that would transition with the girls as they grow from playing in the bathtub as toddlers, to maximizing space needed for makeup, hairdryers, etc as they become teenagers.

There is nothing like spending time in a happy and bright space that brings joy. This family loves to use their dining room for weekly ‘family game nights’ and theme parties as well as hosting their friends for dinner. I’m excited to share the details of the transformation!

Interior Design: A Pretty Place for Reading

In this project, in Orinda, Ca., I was tasked with coming up with a design solution for a landing space at the top of a stairwell. It was a space that was too small for a loveseat and chairs, and too big and open to use as a home office.
