Hi there!  I'm back with some more details from the recent living room project reveal that I posted a few weeks ago.  If you missed that post, click here to review!

Today, I'm talking about coffee table styling -- and sharing some of my techniques to make your coffee table vignette look unique and visually interesting.

The biggest elements for great coffee table style are texture, color, varying heights of objects -- and a dash of the unexpected.

In this project, we started with a gorgeous coffee table book by Amelia Handegan.

A great source for coffee table books is Amazon.com.  Simply search for 'coffee table books' and a huge variety of options will be presented.

We layered and draped some color and texture on top of the book with gorgeous oversized glass beads that were sourced from our local flea market.  However, there is a great source on Etsy.com called The Bead Chest that sells a huge offering of colorful glass beads.

The vases that we used to add height (and a little texture with succulents) each offered a little unexpectedness - one with a unique shape and the other with a marbleized finish.

The vases were sourced from a favorite, local store here in Lafayette, CA., called Indigo & Poppy.

These are a few unique and artfully shaped vases that would look great on a coffee table:

One final thought -- Add fresh flowers, succulents, or an orchid to bring some life to your coffee table.

Interior Design: Before & After Bathroom Remodel

My clients have two young daughters and needed this bathroom to more efficient with storage and space. They wanted a timeless design in their 100 year old home that would transition with the girls as they grow from playing in the bathtub as toddlers, to maximizing space needed for makeup, hairdryers, etc as they become teenagers.

Interior Design: A Pretty Place for Reading

In this project, in Orinda, Ca., I was tasked with coming up with a design solution for a landing space at the top of a stairwell. It was a space that was too small for a loveseat and chairs, and too big and open to use as a home office.
