Fantastic Finds: Art and Interiors

Art //  Pillows // Wine Glasses // Throw // Cookbook  //  Bench  // Sconce

Hi there!  I've been working on some awesome projects lately and can't wait to share them with you!  In the meantime, I've curated another round of "Fantastic Finds"  - a round-up of things I think are great, inspired by an original piece of art.

1.  Art

"Another Bigger Ocean View" by Nancy B. Hartley.

I've admired Nancy's work for a while after first being introduced to her small works at the Jennifer Perlmutter Gallery in Lafayette, CA.  Immediately drawn to the vibrant colors she uses -- I was hooked when I read her bio where she says she hopes "that my work puts a smile on your face and a warmth in your heart".  I love that!

2. Pillows

etsy pillows

I've said it before.....pillows make a room! Go with a neutral fabric on your larger furniture (sofa, chairs), and they can remain timeless, while pillows are an affordable way to change your design scheme.  Etsy is a great source for pillows, and the pillows I've sourced for this post are from Spark Modern.

3. Wine Glasses

Stemless wine glasses are so much easier to clean (no more stems breaking in the dishwasher!) and I love the brass/gold details on these. They look so artful! (Found on One Kings Lane).

4.  Throw

throw

An easy way to inject color into your interiors -- add a decorative (and useful) throw (found on One Kings Lane). It looks great folded over a sofa or chair back.

5.  Skinny Taste Cookbook

I highly recommend Gina Homolka's blog, Skinny Taste.  She shares creative recipes that are packed with flavor and satisfy cravings.....but have less fat and calories.

Skinny Taste Fast and Slow (available at Amazon.com) is the perfect cookbook for Fall comfort food recipes.

6.  Faux Fur Bench

I love this faux fur bench made by Uttermost and found on Amazon.com.   It's SO comfortable and so chic looking and very affordably priced!  See how great it looks in this living room.

7.  Sconce

The Reed Sconce from Rejuvenation would look great flanking a sofa, or a bed for reading -- but also looks great in a kitchen installation.  Love!

Interior Design: Before & After Bathroom Remodel

My clients have two young daughters and needed this bathroom to more efficient with storage and space. They wanted a timeless design in their 100 year old home that would transition with the girls as they grow from playing in the bathtub as toddlers, to maximizing space needed for makeup, hairdryers, etc as they become teenagers.

Interior Design: Before and After Dining Room

There is nothing like spending time in a happy and bright space that brings joy. This family loves to use their dining room for weekly ‘family game nights’ and theme parties as well as hosting their friends for dinner. I’m excited to share the details of the transformation!

Interior Design: A Pretty Place for Reading

In this project, in Orinda, Ca., I was tasked with coming up with a design solution for a landing space at the top of a stairwell. It was a space that was too small for a loveseat and chairs, and too big and open to use as a home office.
