Creating a cohesive living/dining area

Do you want to know the secret to blending a living area and a dining area together?

Coordinate the rugs!

I recently staged this darling house and I used decorative accent rugs (from HomeGoods!) to anchor the living room (above) and the dining room (below):

Here's another view:

Since these two rooms were essentially one large room, I used the same colors in each space -- emphasizing a pop of yellow, green, gray, and black.

They just flow together!

Here are the BEFORE pics:

Sneak Peak

So, one of the things that I've been LOVING working on is the design and total furnishing of a
sweet pied-a-terre in San Francisco!

Here's a sneak peak of the fabrics that I'm working with to create an incredible room
(with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge, I might add!) for my clients:

Here are the deets on what the above is being used for:

1. Vintage looking fabric will be used for a beautiful daybed
2.  F.Schumacher Chiang Mai Dragon accent pillows
3. Luxurious blue velvet sofa
4. Wild and wonderful custom made ottoman/coffee table
5.  Super cool swivel arm chairs
6. Gorgeous ikat area rug

I've been very lucky and flattered to watch my real estate staging business expand into a residential interior design and photography styling business.  I'll keep you posted on more soon!

The little yellow pillows that could...

I can't believe how many times I've used these yellow faboo pillows from HomeGoods for my
 real estate staging business.

Here they are again!

Isn't this room cute?
I staged this house this week using a super cute, outrageously colorful rug from HomeGoods, blended in with antiques, consignment finds, and new and old items that made this room pop!

Here's the other side of the room.....

(eeegads! please disregard my purse and camera bag stashed on the floor behind the chair....but perhaps you didn't notice until I mentioned it.....)

Here is the room before.....

(sorry for the blurry iphone pics!)

And one more time, here's the after photo!

Anywho, this room made me smile and I wanted to share!
