Creating a cohesive living/dining area

Do you want to know the secret to blending a living area and a dining area together?

Coordinate the rugs!

I recently staged this darling house and I used decorative accent rugs (from HomeGoods!) to anchor the living room (above) and the dining room (below):

Here's another view:

Since these two rooms were essentially one large room, I used the same colors in each space -- emphasizing a pop of yellow, green, gray, and black.

They just flow together!

Here are the BEFORE pics:

Living Room

Dining Room (used as a kids play area)

This house is now pending!

Cheers!

I always notice the most obscure things, but I really love how the support beam is painted like the wall and not the ceiling. It looks really pretty. You did a great staging job, and it has probably already sold.
