Pillow of the Day

Not just for chairs and sofas, pillows can be awesome on the floor too!

Love, love, love these Kantha floor cushions from Jayson Home!

They'd be great in a teenage girl's room; on a lanai, or a sweet boho chic loft!

An Ottoman and a BFF-Before and After

I love my BFF.
Her name is Betsy and we have been best friends forever!  Seriously!

She got this little ottoman for a song at a garage sale:

The wood finish needed a little TLC ...... and after digging through my fabric stash, Betsy decided she wanted me to reupholster it as well.....

So here it is!

Faboo isn't it?  It reminds me of this little ditty that I 'pinned' from Furbish Studio!

And now for the BFF before and after....

After (aka....now!)

F. Schumacher and me

I love my F. Schumacher Pearl River pillows....

But today I felt like one pillow per chair was not enough....

I went into my fabric stash and decided to add a little
F. Schumacher Betwixt in Spark by Celerie Kemble

Yum!  It added a little texture and a little pizazz to my chairs!

I feel like I went shopping!

And I didn't even have to leave my house!

Chair Makeover!

Boom chicka wow wow!

I do believe I've turned a masculine Mad Men-esque chair into a sweet little feminine beauty!

Found this vintage (and fabulous) chair at the Alameda Antiques Faire back in January.....

It had a gash in the leather seat, so I knew it needed to be re-done.

Imagine my giddy-ness when I found out this chair was made by Hickory Chair and in 1967!

A little Faux Ostrich fabric and some antique bronze nailheads, and

Blessings and love to my dear father who passed away last week.

I will miss him terribly.

Me Ke Aloha Pumehana
(with everlasting love.....)

Mad for Elephants!

I've been crazy for elephants these last few months.

They are a sign of strength!

My BFF dropped by tonight with this sweet little elephant she found today at a flea market.

Did you know that in mythology,
'if an elephant fell down, he could only be picked up by it's calf?'
(A herd of elephants would be of no avail to it.  The calf was a symbol of a higher power who was able to restore humankind).

I'll be taking a little blogging break for a while, and spending time with my 'falling elephants'.

But I'll be back.  I promise.  With strength.

Click here, and here, and here if you want to read more about my journey with elephants.

And, I'm not kidding.....the universe works in mysterious, yet magnificent ways.
