A fun day in San Francisco

Spent the day in San Francisco with a friend today.......

Here are a couple of shots of some things that caught my eye at a store called Plantation on Hayes Street.

This was in the window and it stopped me in my tracks!

I love this Thom Filicia fabric!!

Sweet blue sofa with lavender accent pillows and great greek key pillows with inverted flange edging!

More lavender and navy mixed together in this darling chair:

Cutest stool ever!  In Kelly Wearstler fabric:

I did it!

I reupholstered the ottoman!

Here it was before:

This was my inspiration photo:

After I took off the ugly yellow fabric, I found this underneath:
Yuck-a-doo!  It's like gross plastic vinyl from years and years ago......

Then there was this under that:

There was hay under all that! Yee haw!

I decided to lay some cotton over it.

It looked like Cousin It from the Addams Family (circa 1960's.....)

Hmmmm.... my 'cousin it' needed something over the cotton to keep it together.

How about burlap?

Nope.  Too cumbersome.

How about muslin?

Nope.  It looked like a mushroom cap.

Then I remembered I had some thick velvet that I could use to cover the hay and keep all the little pokey hay pieces inside.

I painted the legs black:
